Assessment Policy
The Assessments are used as a process of collecting evidence and making judgments on whether competency has been achieved, to confirm that a Student can perform to the standard required in the workplace, as specified in a training package or a vocational education and training (VET) accredited course.
Each unit of competency contains assessment items. Individually, these are marked “Satisfactory” or “Not Yet Satisfactory” and once all required assessment items for a unit are complete the student will be deemed “Competent” or “Competency Not Achieved”.
Each assessment tool:
Must be completed by the specified due date in the unit guide and assessment plan.
That is not completed by the due date as specified, may incur additional fees to extend unit access.
If a student consistently achieves “Not Yet Satisfactory” and demonstrates poor performance on all assessment tools, AACDS reserves the right to terminate the student’s enrolment for the corresponding unit.
As part of the assessment tools, some units of competency have an exam which is required to be completed. In addition to the standard assessment requirements above the following must also be observed:
All exams are closed book
A student will have the opportunity to resit a failed assessment, however on the second attempt the pass mark will increase by 10%.
If a student fails on the second attempt, the student must re-enrol into the failed unit at the current full-fee
If you do NOT attend a scheduled examination and are unable to provide proof of extenuating circumstances, a re-schedule exam fee will be charged to cover the cost of an exam invigilator.
Cheating and Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarismis an act of academic dishonesty. It occurs when the work of another person, or persons, is used and presented, as one’s own without proper acknowledgment of the work quoted or reference made.
Cheating and Plagiarism are regarded seriously and will result in being deemed Not Yet Competent in a unit or cancellation of enrolment.
Penalties for cheating and / or plagiarism will be given at the RTOs discretion.
